EuroCrown's method of cleaning skulls is the "boil method". We understand that this method gets a lot of scrutiny, but we follow strict "boil" times and degreasing procedures to ensure absolutely no damage is done to your skull.
No. Because of how we degrease we are able to remove all the oil out of a skull. Bone is like a sponge that holds oils and fats. When the bone is heated up it expands and thins any oil inside the skull. During this process the degreaser is able to flood into the bone pores and pull any grease out ensuring that no surface oils will leach through in time.
We recommend taking the thin nasal bones out (especially in small cervids). When people complain about a skull stinking it's usually because the nasal or brain cavity did not get cleaned properly. By taking the nasal bones out we can ensure that skull gets 100% cleaned and doesn't create a place for bugs or bacteria to colonize. Of course if you want the nasal bones left in we will do that at your request.
The countdown until September 1st has begun, and we can't wait to see this year's coming trophies!
